Really great hotel! Very contemporary and fresh looking. Nice snacks and amenities around the hotel add to the value. George at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and clean and modern furniture and appliances. Really could be classified as a 4 star hotel because it has a nice pool and gym and amazing comp breakfast. Gym is large and on the roof of the hotel. Breakfast included fresh fruit, waffles and made to order omelet bar. It was actually a 4.5 or 5 star breakfast. I frequent hotels and have stayed in many and this is one of the best I have stayed. It could easily fit in in NYC Toronto or LA.
We blocked rooms for our wedding guests at the hotel. Though our room, and the majority of the blocked guest rooms were fine, there were severe issues which were unresolved by the hotel. One guest room had dried blood all over the room, another room had the refrigerator malfunction which left a large amount of water all over the floor (an elderly couple's room), and one room was above the bar and was so loud that they could not put their baby to sleep and had to go to the bar and tell them to turn the music down. In all instances, the hotel did nothing to resolve the matter. The front desk was ridiculous - nobody was ever there. We had gift bags for our guests to be handed out and many of them were not handed out. George was the only knowledgeable person at the front desk, and when he was not there, it was awful. One of the front desk girls even told me "its all down hill from here" in regard to my getting married the night before. HA. Additionally, many of my guests complained to me about how rude the ladies booking the rooms were. We had a room block and were bringing the hotel great business, I think we should have been able to expect them to be nice to our guests. Anyway, nice hotel if you get put into a clean room, not located above the bar. The shuttle is a perk if you book it in advance, and the breakfast was nice. I had expected better customer service, but from looking at some other reviews, it seems this was not a one time issue.
Amazing free breakfast, shuttle options to airport and small radius around hotel, very kind and helpful staff, heated pool, hot tub, excellent gym with three treadmills, two ellipticals, bike, cabled weight tower, and free weights.
Rooms are always clean, very modern, and spacious.
As a note, George rocks!!!! Credit to the kind and always helpful shuttle drivers too, you guys are amazing!
Outstanding Value & Comfort. A very clean and modern room with an abundance of amenities that you would usually find in more upscale, luxury hotels. Front desk ( George ) very professional, personable and highly efficient. I will definitely return on my next few trips out this way, very impressed and my words can't accurately describe the overall quality and experience, when in area, make reservations and experience it for yourself - You Won't Be Disappointed.
Maplewood Suites is a very nice and comfortable place to stay. They have the best breakfast included and the Blue Spruce has excellent food and drinks. The pool and hot tub are very nice and clean as well. The beds are extremely comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend anyone needing to stay in Syracuse use this hotel for their stay. It may be a bit more expensive than other places but it is very worth it.
