Visited Smokey Bones in Clay, NY for a late lunch with a party of 4 before my kids went back to college. Our waitress wasn’t very enthusiastic or attentive. Never asked anyone if they wanted refills on drinks, didn’t give options when ordering. I ordered a salad and baked potato. Never asked if I wanted a garden or Caesar salad. Never asked if I wanted the pulled pork or brisket on my baked potato. I’m not even sure what I ended up with. I think it was pulled pork? Hard to tell because it was so dried out. The potato was probably several hours old. It was shriveled up and hard. The salad was good though. Garlic bread was a rock hard crouton. Mac and cheese had a hard, dried up chicken tender chopped up on top. 2 other meals were ok. Not my best experience with Smokey Bones. Usually it’s great service and great food. This time, sadly, was a huge disappointment.
LOVE the brisket tacos. So impressed. They did not come out hot the first time, but I sent them back in and they were amazing.
I had char-grilled chicken wings, there was one that looked abnormally large, i was going to eat it untill i noticed a clump of feathers still stuck in the chicken. That is completely distgugsting and extremely unsanitary!!!!!
We went with friends and our son, our friends and sons good took a bit to come out, and my husband and I were told ours would be right out. 10 minutes later out food arrived, and my burger was burned to a crisp. They explained that my husband's sandwich fell and they had to remake it, but they had left my burger on the grill. I asked for a new burger, but they just brought me another burned burger that not even our dogs would eat. I will never go back.
Food was great, atmosphere great ...waiter was a little rude and didn't ask anyone at the table 1 time if they wanted a refill(Jason ) and proceeded to tell us 20 percent tip is recommended lol thanks Jason your lucky I wasn't paying
